Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle

Hey guys!

I don't know if you guys have seen these new products that Becca recently launched for summer 2014, but they are so gorgeous!  I want them in very single color even though my poor wallet is screaming no!

Don't these models just look gorgeous?

The new product is called Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle and it comes in six different shades.
The description on the Sephora website is:

"This lightweight formula packs four must-have qualities into one formula: a powder to add a pop of color, a stain to give staying power, an illuminating highlighter, and a cream to deliver a flawless finish. Water-resistant and oil-free, each pot combines Becca’s bestselling Beach Tint with a Shimmering Skin Perfector™ for effortlessly build able  complexion-enhancing color, soothing hydration, and a youthful glow. "

Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle in Fig/Opal

Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle in Guava/Moonstone

Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle in Lychee/Opal

Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle Papaya/Topaz

Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle in Raspberry/Opal

Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle Watermelon/Moonstone

I saw these while I was browsing the site, which is basically all I do in between classes because I'm a makeup addict, and I immediately ordered 2 shades. These just look so pretty in the pictures and I've always wanted to try her shimmering skin perfecters since I've heard amazing things about them and I figured since it's almost summer why not go with these (I'm waiting to order my skin perfecters until November when they have their 20% off sale).  The ones I got in particular are called Lychee/Opal and Papaya/Topaz.  I wanted to order all 6 of the shades but I settled for these 2 and if I like it, I'll go back and purchase the remaining 4 with my 10% off discount I got when I reached VIB status.

The promo pictures for this are amazing, the models look gorgeous, and I just love the whole summer glow look and I'm hoping that these products help me achieve that look!  I will have a review up for these as soon as I get my order in so check back for that.

As a side note, the whole time I was typing this up I kept typing out Becca Beach Tint SUMMER soufflé instead of Shimmer! Maybe because these will be perfect for summer?

These are $27 each for 0.20 oz and are available online at Sephora.

What're your thoughts on this new product? Are you as in love with it as I am? Let me know in the comments!

Until Next Time.

Sabrina

Nail Polish Haul

Hello again,

So I just got another package in the mail from a lovely seller on Poshmark.  If you haven't heard of Poshmark before it's a site or if you're on a mobile device, it's an app where you can sell your old clothes or things you just don't want and also buy a lot of things for very cheap.  I haven't really bought much off of the site because I just have way too many things already.

One thing I do buy like crazy off of the site though is Nail Polish.  I can't find anybody else who sells their nail polish at the deals that these lovely ladies on Poshmark do.  My entire Essie nail polish collection has come solely from Poshmark and I almost always get these bottles at around $3-$4 each as compared to stores where they sell for around $10.  Plus, they don't only sell the old colors where the bottle is half empty, they sell the colors that have recently come out and are brand new.  I'm so happy that I have found these people on poshmark to help fuel my nail polish addiction.

In my order this time, I got OPI Crown me Already, OPI DS Lapis, Essie Cocktails and Coconuts, Essie Find Me An Oasis, Essie Romper Room, Essie Mod Square, and Nicole by OPI Oh, Thats Just Grape!
Essie L-R
Cocktails and Coconuts, Romper Room, Find Me An Oasis, Mod Square

OPI L-R
DS Lapis, Crown Me Already

Nicole by OPI
I got all of this for $23 and that price is including shipping!

So if you aren't on postmark, you should be, if only for the great deals that you can find on there.  If you do join, you can follow my closet xosabrinau and the lovely seller that I purchased these nail polishes from is tiffanyj3.

Until Next Time,
xo.

What's In My Gym Bag?

Hey Guys!

What's in my gym bag?
As a college student, I get access to our schools gym and I've really been wanting to get back into shape and slim down a little before bikini season rolls around.  I got pretty lucky with my schedule this semester and I finish class at 11 almost every day but there are a few days where I have to work out in between classes (Tuesday & Friday).  Nobody wants to go to class all smelly and looking frumpy, so today I'm going to show you what I do to get ready quickly after a workout at the gym.

First, right after I work out, I usually take a quick shower because I do 40 min of cardio and at the end of that I'm just really sweaty and sticky feeling.  Even if I don't do a lot of cardio, I sweat really easily so I just like to take a shower anyways.
If you don't feel very sweaty or gross after your workouts then prob. won't need to shower and you could even do a quick wipe down with some baby wipes if you'd rather not shower.  I know some college showers are disgusting, but ours are pretty clean and I don't mind showering there.

After I get dressed I get out my handy little makeup bag. My makeup bag is a cute little travel size bag from Tarte that I got as a gift set from Sephora.

I put together this makeup bag recently because I got a lot of these products from my Sephora haul with using them at the gym in mind.  Inside my makeup bag I have an Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil in Ebony, a Selena Gomez perfume rollerball, Tarte Maracuja Oil Rollerball, MAC Eyeliner in Engraved, a cherry Chapstick, a Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour full coverage foundation in Medium, Maybelline Waterproof the Rocket mascara, and an Urban Decay High Gloss Lip Color in the shade Glinda.  It may seem like this is a lot of makeup but it really only takes me about 5-10 minutes to do my makeup after the gym.

First, I take my brow wiz pencil and fill in my brows a little bit tip they're defined a little more than usual.  I then apply the Maracuja oil to my face first then rub it into my skin using my fingers and then I do my eyeliner to let the oil settle into my skin before I go over it with foundation.  Then I take a tiny amount of foundation and rub it in to my cheeks with my fingers just to cover the redness of my cheeks (I get so red when I work out it's not even funny).  Next I do a coat of mascara on my upper lashes and finish off with either my chapstick or my lip pencil.

This is by all means not a very hard look to accomplish and after the gym I don't really feel like wearing a ton of makeup anyways.  This look is something I'd also do if I was pressed for time since it's basically following the rules for framing your face: Brows, Lashes, Lips.

Let me know in the comments if you even bother doing your makeup after the gym and if you do, what products are in your gym bag?

Until Next Time.

Sabrina

Side Feathered Nails

Hello Everyone.

Today I'm here to share my nails of the day.  I created these nails after my friend showed me a picture she found on Pintrest of these nails in a different color.  I recreated the nails on myself (to practice for when I would do hers) in orange and purple because she liked those two colors together & I really like the end result.
Colors from L-R
Tart Deco, Fiji, Boxer Shorts, Play Date, Stroke of Brilliance

For these nails I used Essie nail polish in the colors Tart Deco, Boxer Shorts, Play Date, Stroke of Brilliance, and Fiji.  For the feather I used a random black nail polish (I believe it was Sinful Colors) and drew it on using a nail art brush.

These nails are really easy to recreate and look good in almost any colors. Basically all you do is paint on your base color, Tart Deco in my case, and then take a nail art brush and messily paint on the other colors one by one.  You don't want your lines to look perfect and you want them to be a little messy and uneven to give it that "feather" look.  After you've painted on all the different colors, take Stroke of Brilliance and add a little glitter to your nails. I found the best technique to do this was to dot on the glitter in 3 places down the side of your nail and just push the glitters outwards using the same nail art brush as before.  That way you have a more controlled application of the glitter and you won't get glitter outside of the feathers.  Top with a coat of Seche Vite & you're done.

Easy Right?

If you try to recreate these nails let me know how they turn out in the comments or tag me in a picture on instagram @xosabrinau.

Until next time,
xo.

Ulta Haul

Hey Everyone! (:

Ulta recently had their 21 days of beauty sale and on one of their beauty days, their Mario Badescu products were all 25% off & of course I had to take advantage of this sale!

L-R Mario Badescu Products
Enzyme Cleansing Gel, Eye Makeup Remover, Rose Facial Spray, Glycolic Foaming Cleanser

I hadn't heard much about Mario Badescu products until I watched one of Nicole Giermo's videos (I don't remember which one exactly, but I think it was in one of her haul videos) where she talked about how the glycolic cleansing gel just took all of her makeup off no problem & I've been wanting to try their products ever since.  We don't have an Ulta in the state of Hawaii I believe and I wasn't sure which products to try exactly so I just ordered a bunch of facial cleansers because I ran out of my old DHC cleansing oil.

So far I've only tried these products a few times and I don't know how I feel about these products.  The Enzyme Cleansing Gel has an unpleasant smell to it (I'm not sure what it exactly smells like but I don't like it) and it is a little strong.  It doesn't bother me too much but I would've enjoyed the product more had it smelled better or had no scent at all.  It does get rid of my makeup and my face feels clean and smooth after I use it so that's a plus.
I'm not too big a fan of the eye makeup remover because you have to apply it with your fingertips and in my opinion it just doesn't work very well.  After using it, my mascara is still on my eyes and I don't like having to go back and use another remover after I'm done washing my face.
However, I don't have anything bad to say about the glycolic foaming cleanser or the facial rose spray.  I like both products and I will most likely repurchase after I finish these up.

Samples from Ulta

As a side note, can I just say how much better the Ulta samples are from the Sephora ones.  Usually all sephora includes with their packages are these foil packages where you can't really get a good feel for how the product works or how your skin will react to it in my opinion.  These Ulta samples were pretty good for free.  They included a sample of 7 face wipes by the brand simple, a small sized moisturizer that came in a tube not a foil packet and a small foil packet of a cleanser (They can't all be winners lol)

I also placed a Sephora order last night since I had to take advantage of their 15% off sale as well.  Theres just something about sales that make me feel like I have to buy stuff or else I'm losing out on money lol.  So check back for that haul going up in the near future.

Until Next Time.

Sabrina

Sephora 15% off sale

Hey Guys.

As many of you know, Sephora is holding their annual 15% off sale for chic week until April 10th.  I haven't placed an order yet because I've been waiting to see if certain things would come back into stock so I wouldn't have to place separate orders and for shipping twice but in holding off in my purchases, many of the other things I wanted have gotten sold out and are out of stock.  I really hope Sephora does a restock (I doubt they will) because I've been looking forward to hauling these things for awhile now and it's such a bummer that I most likely won't be able to get them.  So since I won't be getting much from this sale, because I don't have much money and I'm saving it for MACs Playland & Proenza Schouler Collections, I decided to share my wish list with you guys. All the things I wish I could have but I'm too broke to afford and because it was out of stock.

I know, I know, my wish list is reaaally long, but a girl can dream right?
I really should get a job because the life of a broke college student isn't all that glamorous & with all these new makeup collections coming out practically one after another, it's hard to fuel my addiction.  Everyone always tells me, well you don't really need more makeup & I just look at them like they're crazy. Can you ever have enough makeup? I don't think so! haha. #MUAproblems.

Well, thats all for todays post.
Leave me a comment with your wish list or if you've tried out any of these products on my wish list let me know how you like them!

Thanks for reading,
Until next time.

Makeup of the Day

Hey Everyone!

Todays look is brought to you by this beautiful palette by the company Too Faced.
Eyeshadow Colors L-R
Row 1: Dainty, Charming, Girly, Totally Fetch, Miss Sparkles
Row 2: Ringleader, Gangsta, Instigator, Badass, Jailbird
It's the Too Faced Pretty Rebel palette and I actually picked this palette up during my winter visit to California. Unfortunately where I live we don't have an Ulta or a Sephora anywhere so I have to order things online and since I live in Hawaii these companies don't ship to us for free even if we spend over $50. Bummer. So whenever I visit the mainland I go crazy when I go to a Sephora or Ulta and I'm just swatching things left and right!

In this look I used the colors Jailbird (inner corner), Totally Fetch (across the lid), Charming (Crease), Ringleader (to blend out my crease), Miss Sparkles (outer V), and Badass (lower lash line).

I haven't really used this palette much because I haven't had much time to play around with makeup recently because of college classes, but so far I'm really enjoying the palette.  The colors go together well and you can do many looks using only this palette alone. I think this palette is still available online at Sephora for $46 but Sephora is having their 15% off sale right now so if you don't have this palette yet, then you may want to check it out.

For the rest of my face I used MAC lipstick Flair for Finery, a limited edition lipstick that came out with their Divine Nights collection, MAC Blazing Haute blush, MAC Stereo Rose for highlight, and Too Faced Chocolate Soleil for bronzer/contouring. My winged eyeliner was created with NYC Liquid eyeliner and my eyeshadow base was NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. Eyebrows are done with MAC Fluidline in the color Dipdown.

Kole Kole beach park waterfall
Even though we don't have a Sephora or any places to really shop, there are perks to living here on the Big Island. Today I did a little exploring and went to Kole Kole beach park and even though you can't really swim there, it's still really pretty.

Until next time.

Hey everyone!

Welcome to my blog LipsticknLacquer.  I've been an avid makeup and nail polish collector for quite some time now and I thought that it would be fun to share my love of all things beauty with you guys (:
Since this is my first post and first blog ever, I wanted to do something that would let you guys get to know me a little more so I've come up with 25 random facts about myself. So here we go!

1.  My name is Sabrina. Some people call me Sabby and sometimes even Sabbyrina.
2. I am 19 years old.
3. I am a scorpio.
4. I am currently attending UH Hilo as a sophomore, soon to be junior.
5. I am a chemistry major.
6. My dream job is to become a cosmetic developer (cosmetic chemist) for MAC or any other major makeup brand.
7. I played soccer for 12 years of my life and I miss playing with my old team a lot.
8. I love sports.  I love watching sports with my friends and family and I get really into it and start yelling at the TV sometimes.
9. I have a really shy/introverted personality.  If you talk to me first I have no problem talking and keeping a conversation with you, but I have a hard time starting conversations because I am so shy.
10.  I would love to travel across the USA to see where I want to live when I graduate college and the places I'm most interested in right now are Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Texas.
11. I was born and raised in Hawaii, but I usually spend either my summers or winters in California and I love it there.
12.  My favorite color is lavender.
13. My favorite flowers are peonies.
14. I hate fish.  Fish are slimy and slippery and they stink and they just gross me out. yuck.
15.  I love almost all types of music.  Some of my favorite artists are All Time Low, Pierce the Veil, Eminem, Adele, One Direction, and The Band Perry.
16. I love to read; one of my favorite apps is Wattpad and I've been thinking about maybe writing a story of my own one day.
17. I'm really undecided about my future. I don't know where I want to live or what career I will even go into ultimately. It's a bit stressful and scary at times, but I'll figure it out eventually.
18.  I have over 300 different colors of nail polish and I think its pretty close to almost 400 bottles of nail polish.
19.  My favorite makeup brand is MAC Cosmetics with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics coming in second.  Albeit I have never really used many other brands, but I do plan on branching out into other high end brands this year.
20.  My favorite types of makeup items are lipsticks and blushes, although recently I have been getting more into highlighters.
21.  I am a really picky eater.  I don't eat a lot of things and some people trip out over how ridiculously picky I am.
22.  I am really organized when it comes to anything beauty related.  My lipsticks are all organized by brand and collection, my closet is organized by color, and whenever new collections are coming out I have lists that clearly label everything out.  It's almost OCD, but then you look at the floor of my room and it's ridiculously messy and all my school things are disorganized with my notes written randomly in my notebooks.  It's actually really bad... lol.
23. My favorite seasons are winter and fall even though we don't have major season changes here in Hawaii.  I like winter and fall because I get to wear dark, vampy colors and I get to dress up with my boots, sweaters, and scarves.
24.  I love to cook.  I recently started trying to get back into shape and finding/making healthy dishes has become a new favorite pass time of mines.
25. I'm such a morning person.  I wake up at 6 every single morning even without an alarm clock and I don't need coffee or caffeine of any type to function throughout the day, but I have a hard time staying up very late.  I'm usually sleeping by 11.

Well that's it for now. I hope you enjoyed reading my first blog post and feel free to leave me a comment about whatever.  There's a lot more to come soon (Makeup hauls, Nail art, Tutorials, etc.) and I can't wait to get this blog going (:

Until next time,

xo.
